About Shai

An Israeli-inspired restaurant created by celebrated chef Franklin Becker that features a selection of hummus with a range of toppings. 

Our menu also includes bold and fresh takes on falafel, shawarma, and several vegetarian and vegan options. We deliver in NYC anywhere below 23rd street and in the Philadelphia area including Penn, Art Museum Area, Center City, and more.

Our Cuisine

Meant for sharing, Israeli cuisine is predominantly plant-based, incorporating a bevy of healthy foods including grass-fed meats, free range poultry, chickpeas, garlic, olive oil, sesame seeds, spices, and lots and lots vegetables.

Chef Franklin Becker

Shai's founder and Top Chef Masters veteran Chef Franklin Becker, is an acclaimed chef, author, autism activist and TV personality. In addition to Top Chef Masters, Chef Becker
appears regularly on television, including Iron Chef America, The Today Show, Dr. Oz, The Rachael Ray Show, Beat Bobby Flay, and more.

He attended the prestigious Culinary Institute of America and  has worked in some of the nation’s finest kitchens,  including Brasserie, the EMM Group, Starr Restaurant Group, Grand Hospitality, and Capitale.

Chef Becker previously co-founded the fast-casual, gluten-free concept The Little Beet and The Little Beet Table, as well as plant-based food subscription service Hungryroot.
